PARL staffers demand promotion, pay rise.

Islamabad, March 27, 2012 (Frontier Star): Employees of Pakistan Automation Revenue Limited (PARL), subordinate wing of FBR neither given 50 percent increase nor promotions according to merit list. Representatives of PARL's employees hailed from Group 3 to 9 said this in a statement issued here on Monday. They said that their promotions are due for three years and dozens of senior officials are waiting for their promotion. A list of senior employees was prepared for presentation in the board meeting but at the eleventh hour, a new list was put up, which was against the merit. Most of the new promoted employees belong to development side instead of operational group, a back bone of PARL. The process of promotion prevailed disappointment among the employees. They termed it injustice and nepotism. They said that their salaries should be increased up to 50 percent as announced by the federal government. PARL employees have demanded that Prime Minister and Chairman FBR may intervene the matter regarding promotions against the merit so that deserving employees might be given their due right.
