PARKER BROTHERS' PERFECT MATCH GAME ASKS GIRLS: HOW WELL DO YOU KNOW YOUR FRIENDS?

HOW WELL DO YOU KNOW YOUR FRIENDS?
BEVERLY, Mass., Nov. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Do young girls really know everything about their best friends? The new, interactive PERFECT MATCH(tm) game from Parker Brothers challenges them to guess how their friends will answer personal questions, then see if their answers match with two electronic "heart" devices that beep for a correct answer.
"The accelerated sales of board games for young girls over the past two years was a driving factor in the development of the PERFECT MATCH game," said John Call, Parker Brothers' vice president, marketing. "Our research indicated that girls in their teen years are interested in knowing and talking about their friends' social likes and dislikes. This game plays on that interest and adds the excitement of the electronic beeping hearts which beep when matches are made."
The game features PERFECT MATCH cards with three types of questions: Boy Picture Cards, where players answer questions about boys pictured in a special card deck; Make-a-list Cards that ask players to list teachers, friends, movie stars and others they all know and answer questions about them; and Multiple Choice Cards, where players select one of four given answers.
Players try to earn scoring chips by correctly guessing one anothers' answers. If the girl to her left matches the first player's answer, the hearts beep, play stops and scoring chips are awarded. If they fail to make a match, the player who guessed incorrectly reveals her answer and the matching process moves clockwise to the next player until a match is made.
The PERFECT MATCH game for girls ages eight and up is designed for two to six players. It is available at a suggested retail price of $15.99.
Parker Brothers is a division of Minnetonka, Minn.-based Tonka Corporation, the nation's third largest toy and game company.
