PARK-OHIO ANNOUNCES COMPLETION, START-UP OF NEW $7 MILLION BENNETT INDUSTRIES CONTAINER FACILITY

PARK-OHIO ANNOUNCES COMPLETION, START-UP OF NEW
$7 MILLION BENNETT INDUSTRIES CONTAINER FACILITY
CLEVELAND, May 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Park-Ohio Industries, Inc., (NASDAQ/NMS: PKOH) has announced that its new Bennett Industries plastic container plant in Valparaiso, Ind. is now operational and nearing full production.
The 104,000 square-foot facility was completed on schedule and under budget at a cost of $5 million. In addition, the facility has installed $2 million of new equipment.
Thomas E. McGinty, Park-Ohio's interim chairman and chief executive officer, said, "The completion of this modern container facility represents an important stage in the development of Bennett Industries. With it, our largest operating unit can continue to build market share through increased emphasis on productivity and customer satisfaction."
Located on 10.5 acres in Valparaiso's Montdale Industrial Park, the complex supplies plastic containers to customers in food service, general chemicals, petroleum, and paint and coatings industries, among others.
As previously announced, the relocation was necessary because the former plant in Peotone, Ill., was outdated and the design made it inefficient for plastic-container production. The Valparaiso location also offers attractive energy rates as well as transportation access to the company's Midwest markets.
Bennett's headquarters and existing metal-pail production will remain at Peotone. Other Bennett Industries plants are located in Lithonia, Ga. and San Fernando, Calif.
Park-Ohio is a diversified manufacturer whose operations include plastic and steel containers, forged and machined products, induction heating systems and industrial rubber products. The Company's common stock is publicly traded on the national over-the-counter market.
