PARK INNS SEEKS CONTROL OF NENDELS
SAN FRANCISCO, March 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Aspinone Ventures Ltd.,

John P. Matlick, and John F. Rothman today announced they have filed a Schedule 13d with the Securities and Exchange Commission in an effort to seek control of Nendels Corp. (NASDAQ: NEND), a Seattle-based hotel franchising company, with the objective of bringing about a merger of Nendels with Park Inns International Inc. Aspinone is the controlling shareholder of Park Inns, Matlick is the former president and chief executive officer of Nendels, and Rothman is a shareholder of Nendels.
Nendels Corp. is a franchiser of mid-priced and economy hotels, suites, inns and resorts operated under the Nendels name. There are 70 licensed locations in the Nendels system. Park Inns has 70 licensed locations in its U.S. system and offers franchised hotel products similar to those offered by Nendels. Through its 56 percent ownership of Park Inn International Worldwide Hotel Group, with more than 40 hotels in operation or under development in six foreign countries, Park Inns provides its franchisees with an internationally based marketing program and reservations system.
The proposed combination of Park Inns and Nendels is subject to the negotiation and execution of definitive agreements and other matters, and there is no assurance that a transaction between the two companies will be completed.
