PARENTING HOT LINE TAKES THE BLUES OUT OF YOUR INFANT'S CRYING:
1-800-35COLIC ANSWERS PARENTS' QUESTIONS ABOUT CRYING, COLIC AND GAS
FORT WASHINGTON, Pa., Nov. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- For generations, mothers' ears have rung with the sound of their infant's crying. Now, for the first time ever, mothers can ring 1-800-35COLIC for help. The hot line is designed to answer parents' questions about their infant's crying, colic and gas.
With the introduction of 1-800-35COLIC, which is being sponsored by Johnson & Johnson MERCK Consumer Pharmaceuticals Company, new parents now have someone to turn to when they have questions or become overwhelmed by their infant's crying.
The 1-800-35COLIC is staffed by registered nurses and experienced parents who are "on call" to provide insight into why babies cry and what it means, what colic is and isn't, and how to soothe the fussy or colicky baby. And since intestinal gas is often associated with crying and colic, the operators can provide information on how to relieve the painful gas. The hot line's hours are from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., EST, Monday through Friday.
1-800-35COLIC is a component of a health and education program for new and expecting parents entitled, "The Three C's of Parenting: Caring, Crying and Colic." The program is being sponsored by Johnson & Johnson MERCK Consumer Pharmaceuticals Company.
