PARC Implements on Aghaz-e-Haqooq-e-Balochistan Package.

ISLAMABAD, March 23, 2012 (Balochistan Times): The Federal government has allowed Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) to setup research institutions at Bhawani, Turbat and Khuzdar. Under the direction of the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan, the PARC Board of Governors (BoG) has implemented on Aghaze Haqooq-e-Balochistan Package for socio-economic development. According to project profile, the Khuzdar Horticulture Research Institute has been established worth Rs.57.870 million and 21 employees including scientific and supporting staff appointed. The project aims to undertake research and development for promotion of horticultural crops using modern technologies, improved irrigation system aiming at to improve crop production technology. Meanwhile, Coastal Agricultural Research Station has been established In Bhawani, Lasbella, Balochistan with a cost of Rs.58.200 million and 23 employees. PARC also established Livestock Research Institute (LRI) at Turbat, Balochistan worth Rs.57.490 million and 37 employees including scientific and supporting staff appointed.
