PARC Chairman urges scientists to get ready to cope with future food challenges.

ISLAMABAD -- Chairman Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) Dr. Iftikhar Ahmed on Sunday emphasized the PARC researchers and staffers to divert their focus and energies more on Agri-sector to meet future challenges of food scarcity amid growing population.

He was administering oath to newly elected body of Employees Association of Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (EPARC) here at National Agricultural Research Council (NARC) on Sunday.

He observed that keeping in view the growing population a great responsibility lies on the shoulders of PARC scientists to start pre-emptive working.

Expressing his satisfaction over the working of the organization he was of the view that still performance of the Pakistan Agricultural Research Council could be extended that will benefit the country.

Iftikhar Ahmad urged the scientists and employees' bodies to jointly work for the establishment of PARC foundation for the welfare of employees adding that various committees have been constituted to find out solutions of employees problems on priority basis.

On the occasion, Director General NARC Dr. Muhammad Azeem Khan highlighted the role of PARC and Ministry of National Food Security & Research (MNFS&R) for Prime Minister's Youth Program to promote the participation of youth in agriculture sector.

The DG NARC also expressed the hope that the newly elected body would join hands with the PARC management to work collective for the benefit of organization.
