PARAMOUNT PICTURES AND COX BROADCASTING COMPLETE BUY-OUT OF GREAT AMERICAN BROADCASTING'S INTEREST IN 'ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT'

HOLLYWOOD, Dec. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- The Domestic Television Division of Paramount Pictures and Cox Broadcasting have completed a buy-out of Great American Broadcasting's interest in "Entertainment Tonight," the longest-running first-run access show in syndication. Making the announcement jointly were Steve Goldman, president of the Domestic Television Division of Paramount, and Nicholas Trigony, president of Cox Broadcasting.
Still No. 1 in all of the primary demographic categories for first-run access series, "Entertainment Tonight" started production 12 seasons ago, as a partnership between Paramount, Cox and Taft Broadcasting, which was later bought by Great American.
In making the announcement, Goldman stated, "We are proud to continue our partnership with Cox, as we have complete confidence that E.T.' will continue for years to come."
Trigony added, "A success for over a decade, Entertainment Tonight' has firmly established itself as a mainstay of television and become the benchmark by which first-run series are measured. Cox is proud to share in the future of such an important series with a terrific partner like Paramount."
"Entertainment Tonight" is produced by the Domestic Television Division of Paramount Pictures, in association with Cox Broadcasting. Paramount Pictures is part of the entertainment operations of Paramount Communications Inc.
