 PARAMAX AWARDED U.S. AIR FORCE CONTRACT
 MCLEAN, Va., June 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Paramax Systems Corporation


announced today that its Tactical Systems division has been awarded a multi-million dollar contract to provide the Special Operations Command a state-of-the-art ground-maritime planning system.
 The Special Operations Forces Planning and Rehearsal System (SOFPARS) is being developed for the Mission Planning Directorate, Electronic Systems Division, Air Force Systems Command, Hanscom AFB. Paramax, formerly Unisys Defense Systems, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Unisys Corporation (NYSE: UIS).
 Paramax is one of three competing contractors who will design, develop, integrate, verify and deliver three workstations and associated peripherals, off-the-shelf hardware and software, and portable applications software. Following base line field testing, one of the three contractors will be selected for production buys for up to 57 additional systems and associated engineering, technical and logistic support.
 SOFPARS will provide planning aids based on current Army and Navy special operations doctrine; functions to assist the SOF mission planner; aids to help users input, organize and link a broad range of textual, graphical, mapping, charting, geodesy and imagery data; and aids to generate mission planning products and appropriate security mechanisms to protect data.
 The basic contract will run through June 1993. Following delivery of the first three workstations, there will be two weeks of in-house system verification and 2-1/2 months of base line field testing at Fort Bragg, N.C., and the Naval Amphibious Base, Coronado, Calif. After down-select, the follow-on contract consisting of various options will be awarded and is expected to run through September 1996.
