 PARAMAX AWARDED $149 MILLION CONTRACT
 FOR TRIDENT II NAVIGATION SYSTEM PRODUCTION
 MCLEAN, Va., April 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Paramax Systems Corporation announced today that it has been awarded a $149 million contract from the U.S. Navy Strategic Systems Programs for production and support of the navigation system equipment for the Trident II fleet ballistic missile submarines. The contract for various individual equipments and engineering services for the installation and support of the equipment runs through Sept. 30, 1998. Paramax, formerly Unisys Defense Systems, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Unisys Corporation (NYSE: UIS).
 The Trident II navigation system is used aboard the latest U.S. Navy submarines armed with ballistic missiles. The navigation system for the submarine is the most reliable and accurate system in the world, capable of providing precise heading, velocity and attitude information for both navigation and fire control purposes.
 Work on the program will be performed at Paramax Systems Corporation's Systems Development facility in Great Neck, N.Y.; at other Paramax facilities in Reston, Va., and Eagan, Minn.; and at various subcontractor facilities around the country.
 "Paramax has served as the systems manager of the navigation system for the fleet ballistic missile program in the United States since it began in the mid-1950s," said Frederick F. Jenny, president of Paramax. "This contract continues the role we have played for the past 35 years in designing, integrating and producing the navigation systems used aboard the Polaris, Poseidon and Trident submarines as part of the U.S. Navy's Strategic Systems Programs team."
 On the Trident II program, in addition to a $797 million contract to develop the navigation system, Paramax has been awarded several production contracts which total more than $850 million, including this latest award.
