PARAMAX, ELECTROSPACE SYSTEMS, INC., JOINING FORCES TO TACKLE ASAS
MCLEAN, Va., April 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Paramax Systems Corporation today announced that it will team with Electrospace Systems, Inc., of Richardson, Texas, to pursue the U.S. Army's All Source Analysis System (ASAS) Block II Program. Paramax, formerly Unisys Defense Systems, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Unisys Corporation (NYSE: UIS).
Electrospace is a system development, hardware integration and test company. Electrospace was recently awarded the Army's competitive IEW Common Sensor program.
Paramax will act as prime contractor for the ASAS Block II bid. ASAS is the intelligence node of the Army Tactical Command and Control System (ATCCS), which provides field commanders with near real-time intelligence for battlefield decision-making. Block II will evolve the current ASAS Block I architecture, Collection Management Support Tools (CMST) software, and the Unix-based Artificial Intelligence Module Test Bed (HAWKEYE) to Common Hardware/Software 2 (CHS 2) and into the ATCCS environment.
Roy F. Busdiecker, director of Army programs for Paramax's Tactical Systems unit, said, "Pursuing the ASAS Block II as prime contractor reflects Paramax's strategy to increase its involvement with the U.S. Army in areas that take advantage of its core strengths, such as command, control and communications and software engineering." Paramax is a leader in advanced software development environments for the Department of Defense and is one of the prime contractors on Software Technology for Adaptable Reliable Systems (STARS).
In a related matter, during February Paramax submitted a proposal for the Army's Integrated System Control (ISYSCON) to automate multi- network battlefield communications planning, engineering and management. Paramax leads the team consisting of General Electric Aerospace and the ITT Aerospace/Communications Division.
Paramax Systems Corporation, headquartered in McLean, is a $2 billion information systems company with 17,000 employees. A subsidiary of Unisys Corporation, Blue Bell, Pa., Paramax is an experienced leader in providing advanced integrated systems, electronic products and related professional services for civil and defense agencies in the United States, Canada and nations worldwide.
