 PARALLEL TECHNOLOGIES ANNOUNCES STRATEGIC ALLIANCE
 WITH INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORPORATION
YONKERS, N.Y., Feb. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Parallel Technologies, Inc. (Electronic Bulletin Board: PLLK) announced today that its wholly owned subsidiary, Graphex Imaging Systems Inc., has concluded a strategic marketing alliance with IBM. Under the terms of the agreement, both IBM and Graphex will sell the Graphex/FPE (Flexible Production Environment/TM/) line of color electronic prepress systems (CEPS). The FPE line is based on the Graphex Parallel Image Processor (GPIP), a multi-node, multiple instruction multiple data, RISC based imaging computer running at 360 to 3000 MIPS (million instructions per second). FPE couples the GPIP with the IBM RISC System/6000 line in a series of flexible configurations designed to meet the specific production needs of the end-user. A series of FPE Software Modules provides full CEPS functionality.
IBM will also provide service for the FPE systems and customer financing will be available through IBM Credit Corporation.
Senior vice president, Martin W. Enright, stated, "We are very pleased to be joining forces with IBM to address the printing and publishing segment of the rapidly growing image processing and software with the strength and open systems connectivity of the RISC System/6000 line will give us a product offering with an unsurpassed price/performance ratio. Adding the sales, service and financing capabilities of IBM should substantially increase our ability to penetrate this market."
