PARAGON CABLE AND MIDWEST SPORTS CHANNEL REACH AFFILIATION AGREEMENT
MSC Launches Tonight on Channel 42
MINNEAPOLIS, June 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Paragon Cable and Midwest Sports Channel today reached an agreement to provide carriage of the regional sports channel on Paragon's full Basic Cable service. MSC will be available at no extra cost to virtually all of Paragon Cable's customers effective today. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
"We are very pleased to offer our customers the high-quality sports programming that MSC brings to our programming line-up," said Wayne Knighton, executive vice president and general manager of Paragon Cable. "Continued negotiations led to an agreement including rate and programming assurances that allow us to offer the regional sports channel on Basic Cable."
MSC will be previewed initially on channel 42, effective Thursday, June 4 at 6 p.m. This will enable viewers to see the Twins vs. Rangers baseball game exclusively on MSC on Sunday, June 7. The final channel allocation and carriage details will be determined in the next couple of weeks.
"We are very happy to add Paragon Cable to our list of affiliates. Paragon represents a significant addition in the Twin Cities metro area. Paragon's customers are the real winners with the resolution of this agreement," said Kevin Cattoor, vice president and general manager of MSC.
Paragon Cable is making MSC available to its full Basic Cable customers; MSC will not be available to customers subscribing to the company's limited channel/lower cost services. Paragon Cable customers may call 612-522-2000 for more information about the addition of MSC to Paragon's channel line-up.
MSC is the home of Minnesota Twins baseball, Minnesota North Star hockey, Gopher and Big Ten basketball, U of M hockey and other local sports programming. MSC will now be available to over 830,000 homes in the upper Midwest.
