      PAR PLEA ACCEPTED BY COURT; COMPANY SENTENCED TO PAY FINES
    SPRING VALLEY, N.Y., Dec. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Pharmaceutical Resources, Inc. (NYSE, PSE: PRX), the parent company of Par Pharmaceutical, Inc., announced that Par today entered its previously announced guilty plea to ten federal felony charges stemming from a two- year investigation by the Office of the U.S. Attorney for the District of Maryland.  Par will pay a total fine of $2,500,000, of which $1,250,000 is payable on Feb. 4, 1992, $625,000 on Dec. 6, 1993, and $625,000 on Dec. 6, 1994.
    Kenneth I.
