PAPA JOHN'S INTERNATIONAL, INC. INITIAL PUBLIC OFFERING OF COMMON STOCK

 LOUISVILLE, Ky., May 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Papa John's International, Inc. (NASDAQ: PZZA) announced its filing of a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission covering the proposed sale of 1,300,000 shares of common stock. The offering is expected to be made to the public in early June 1993, through an underwriting group managed by Montgomery Securities and Alex. Brown & Sons Incorporated. The registration statement was filed with a pricing range of $10 to $12 per share.
 Papa John's operates and franchises pizza delivery and carry-out restaurants under the trademark "Papa John's" in 18 states in the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic and Southeast. The first company-owned restaurant opened in 1985 and the first franchised restaurant opened in 1986. At April 23, 1993, there were 258 Papa John's restaurants in operation, consisting of 45 company-owned and 213 franchised restaurants.
 A registration statement relating to these securities has been filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission but has not yet become effective. These securities may not be sold nor may offers to buy be accepted prior to the time the registration statement becomes effective.
