PALS TRIBUTE TO HOL DEATH AOIFE.
THE heartbroken friends of a 17-year-old girl who died suddenly from a suspected brain haemorrhage on a sunshine holiday yesterday paid tribute to her.
Aoife Carr, an only child, complained of a bad headache while holidaying in Alanya, Turkey, and went to a chemist.
However, she collapsed and was airlifted home to Letterkenny, Co Donegal, on Sunday.
The fifth-year pupil of Loreto College never regained consciousness and died in the presence of her family on Monday.
One of her holiday pals wrote on Bebo: "Wish you were here right now to laugh with me at stupid things that happened. i miss you plz wake up; jokes over, u got ur extra days out there like u had wished."
Another friend wrote: "Thinkin of u, ur family and ur friends...Must be true what they say, only the good die young. RIP pet xo."
The daughter of Sean McDaid and Fiona Carr, Aoife was described as '"a very gentle, pleasant and lady-like person".
The bubbly teenager was laid to rest yesterday following funeral mass at St Eunan's Cathedral in Letterkenny.
