PAEDO RUINED MY LIFE; DEPRAVED ATTACKS ON CHILDREN Anger as rapist is sentenced.
Byline: IAN BUNTING
A victim of a churchgoing Coatbridge paedophile who raped her when she was a little girl says her life has been "tainted forever"and labelled the prison sentence handed down to the brute "a slap in the face".
Disgraced dad-of-one James McLaughlan, 57, will spend the next five-and-a-half years behind bars after owning up to two counts of rape and assault which took place in the town during the late 1970s. One of his victims - who was at primary school at the time of the horrific crimes - has told the Advertiser McLaughlan showed "no remorse" for his actions when sentenced at the High Court in Glasgow last month.
The woman has also shared her concerns that there may be other victims targeted by vile McLaughlan, who she says used to live near primary schools and regularly attended a local church.
