 PACTEL TELETRAC RELEASES STOLEN VEHICLE REPORT
 WHAT: Santa Monica Police Department makes first recovery of a
 PacTel Teletrac-equipped stolen car; Los Angeles Police
 Department and California Highway Patrol track down stolen
 Cadillac in the South Bay.
 WHEN: A 1988 Honda Prelude was reported stolen outside a Santa
 Monica restaurant at approximately 11 p.m. on June 9; the
 1985 Cadillac was reported stolen from the owner's Crescent
 Heights residence on June 11, at approximately 10:15 p.m.
 HOW: The Santa Monica Police Department, which uses PacTel
 Teletrac mapping software in its dispatch operations, was
 able to pinpoint the location of the stolen Honda on its
 computer after being alerted to the theft by Teletrac
 operators. Within 10 minutes, Santa Monica Police
 Department patrol officers located the abandoned vehicle at
 18th and Washington. No arrests were made.
 The second Teletrac-assisted recovery was made by the
 Los Angeles Police Department 40 minutes after the agency
 and the California Highway Patrol received location
 information from PacTel Teletrac. The LAPD found the stolen
 Cadillac, also abandoned, at 120th Street, between Main and
 San Pedro. No arrests were made.
