 PABST BREWING WINS GOLD AND SILVER MEDALS
 AT XIth GREAT AMERICAN BEER FESTIVAL
 MILWAUKEE, Oct. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- For the second year in a row, Olde English 800, America's No. 1 selling malt liquor, won the Gold Medal as best tasting in its category. Pabst Brewing Co. was also among the winners in the American Lager category with Hamm's Lager Beer receiving the Silver Medal and Olympia Dry, the Silver Medal leader in the dry beer category.
 The XIth Great American Beer Festival, held the first week of October in Denver attracted more than 12,000 enthusiasts and witnessed the tasting and judging of some 710 beers in 32 categories by 35 experts from the leader beer producing nations of the world, including Germany, England, Canada, Mexico and the United States.
 Lutz Issleib, chairman and president, Pabst Brewing Co., proudly acknowledged the latest honor and commented: "This is a tremendous achievement to be selected and awarded the Gold Medal two years in a row for the finest malt liquor in America. Our performance at Great American Beer Festivals has truly established the ongoing quality of all Pabst's products as leaders in their respective categories with Silver Medals for Hamm's Lager and Olympia Dry. Famous Pabst Blue Ribbon Beer won the Silver Medal at the ninth festival and Pabst's sister brewery in San Antonio, Texas, was last year's Gold Medal winner with Pearl Lager being designated as the best tasting among America's largest and most important lager category."
