P5.4-M worth of cocaine found floating in waters off Cam Norte.

CAMP OLA, Albay - Two fishermen found a block of cocaine wrapped in a brown paper and packaging tape while fishing at the seawaters of Barangay Sula, Vinzons town in Camarines Norte province on Sunday noon.
Chief Insp. Malu Calubaquib, Police Regional Office 5 (PRO-5) spokesperson said that the illegal drugs were found and recovered by Alfredo Vega, and his son Alfredo Jr., both residents of Barangay Sula Vinzons, while fishing near the Quinamnucan Island.
The Vegas turned over the block, wrapped in black plastic, to Barangay Sula Vinzons Chairperson Rose Marie Abogado. The latter, in turn, gave the block to authorities.
Calubaquib said that based on the laboratory test conducted by the Camarines Norte Provincial Crime Laboratory Office on Sunday afternoon, the substance found inside the block was confirmed positive as cocaine.
She said that the recovered illegal drugs weighed 1,026.19 grams, and had a street value of P5,438,807.00.
Investigation is still ongoing to determine its origin.
