P&G to sell Pulp Division.

In an effort to move away from one part of the raw materials business, P&G, Cincinnati, OH, has announced that it is putting its Pulp Division on the block. According to a March 26 report in the Wall Street Journal, P&G is attempting to sell the division as a result of poor performance; the recent 35% drop in pulp prices severely reduced sales figures. The Pulp Division produced all the raw pulp that P&G used, as well as producing an equal amount that was sold on the open market.
