Ozil sparks Gunners' road show.

Byline: JAMES NURSEY

MESUT OZIL was welcomed back into the Arsenal fold as he helped get Unai Emery's road show rolling with a 3-2 win over Cardiff.

The German's contribution to the Gunners' cause has been called into question and he was recalled to the side after missing the previous game against West Ham because of sickness.

Against newlypromoted Cardiff his influence grew as they secured a first away win under Emery against hosts who twice levelled after going behind.

Emery praised Ozil's contribution to their first away win of the season after Alexandre Lacazette's late winner.

He said: "I give every player the same condition and they are important.

"Ozil with his quality, we needed him to give us his moment of the match. In the second half, he played a good match.

"He worked every minute and with more control of the ball and in possession, I think he feels better on the pitch."

Cardiff's Victor Camarasa cancelled out Shkodran Mustafi's early header but Ozil showed composure and class to pick out Lacazette to help tee up Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to make it 2-1 in the 62nd minute.

That was cancelled out by Danny Ward before Lacazette earned the Gunners a first away win after a difficult start to the season with defeats by Man City and Chelsea.
