Oxford U extends R & D funding.

OXFORD U EXTENDS R & D FUNDING. Invensys, Foxboro, Massachusetts, USA, and Oxford University, United Kingdom, have announced a five-year extension to Invensys' funding of the University Technology Centre (UTC) for Advanced Instrumentation in the university's Department of Engineering Science. This extension valued at [pounds sterling]3.5 million (US$ 5.8 million) enables the university to broaden and expand the collaboration under which the university delivers research and development services to meet business needs of Invensys' manufacturing customer base.

In other Invensys news: The company has received 57 project orders since the introduction of its Foxboro A2 automation system early in 2003. These orders represent more than US$ 5 million in incremental business for Invensys' Foxboro Automation Systems unit.
