Overwatch's newest hero Ashe debuts at BlizzCon 2018; Get ready for a shootout as the Overwatch team announce the newest hero to join the fight.

Byline: Aodhan Gregory

Blizzard has revealed the 29th hero to joinOverwatchwill be another gunslinger.

Elizabeth Caledonia Ashe made her spectacular debut in an animated short during the BlizzCon 2018 opening ceremony in Anaheim.

The leader of the Deadlock Gang and an old acquaintance of McCree, she's armed with a lever-action rifle, dynamite and a robotic sidekick, named B.O.B.

Ashe's primary weapon is The Viper, a Winchester-style semi-automatic rifle which fires quick shots, or she can use her aim-down sights for a more damaging, precise shot.

She's also equipped with the Coach Gun, a sawn-off shotgun sidearm that is designed to blast enemies in front of her, knocking them away and propelling herself backward for added mobility.

Additionally, Ashe can toss Dynamite as a sort of time-delayed grenade, setting her enemies on fire and dealing damage over time.

If that wasn't enough, Ashe also has use of an omnic sidekick, B.O.B, who is described as a sort of seventh hero for your team.

When summoned he can charge forward and knock enemies into the air, then lay down suppressing fire with his arm cannons.

The eight-minute-long animated video also revealed the cause of the wreck by the diner on the Route 66 map, which seems it was a failed attempt by Ashe to rob a train of precious cargo.

But what was most intriguing about the announcement was the revelation of another omnic named Echo, who game director Jeff Kaplan teased as a possible new hero at a later date.

Ashe will be available to play to BlizzCon 2018 attendees, so hopefully it won't be too much longer before she hits the PTR and live Overwatch servers.
