Overall development of nations: Speakers call for promotion of literature, culture and istory important.

QUETTA -- There is a great importance of literature, culture and history in overall development of nations as such we have to pay proper heed towards their promotion. New trends are developing in Balochi literature, which would have far reaching results in our society.

This and similar views were expressed by different speakers including intellectuals and writers while speaking at a seminar on trends in modern Balochi literature and the present era's requirements here at the committee room of Balochistan University the other day.

The Balochi department of the University had organized the seminar in which Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Rasool Bakhsh Raisani was the chief guest.

Secretary Education, Munir Ahmed Badini, renowned intellectual and former Chief Secretary, Abdul Hakim Baloch, the famous writer and columnist, Dr. Ali Dost Baloch, Chairman Balochi department, Dr. Abdul Saboor Baloch and others attended the seminar.

Speaking on the occasion, the Vice Chancellor said that the University of Balochistan is an important institution to develop and promote the local languages and as such is playing an important role in highlighting the local languages, academic research and cultural aspects in the province.

Munir Ahmed Badini presented his research paper on the modern trends of Balochi literature and its historic aspects.

He said that today, the new trends are developing in the Balochi literature which would have far reaching results in future. He said that it has been his endeavour to promote the Balochi literature in his novels and through his writings at the global level.

Other speakers also presented their research papers related to the topic in the seminar.

The chief guest Vice Chancellor presented a commemorative shield to Munir Ahmed Badini on his services in the field of literature.
