Over-rated Pakistan bowling must prove themselves in last T20: Sadiq.

KARACHI -- Former southpaw opener Sadiq Mohammad said that he was deeply disappointed with Pakistan bowling which was the main cause of Pakistan humiliating 10 wickets defeat against New Zealand in the second Twenty20 international at Seddon Park in Hamilton.

Pakistan team looked over-confident and our pace bowlers and spinners really bowled badly, he told reporter in an interview here on Tuesday.

Series deciders will be held at Westpac Stadium Wellington on Friday (Jan.22).

After beating Kiwis in the opening game, Shahid Afridi and his bunch of cricketers seemed to be over-confident. That I feel brought their downfall, he pointed out.

Kane Williamson and Martin Guptill both set new world record for the first wicket stand as bludgeon, Pakistan bowling by scoring 171-0 in 18 overs.

Now a huge challenge awaits Pakistan team to show their full potential with bat, ball and fielding to topple their opponents to win the series, he commented.

I think it was great demoralization after such fantastic start in Eden Park Auckland two days ago, he recalled.

It was unbelievable turnaround. The way, Pakistani batsmen and bowlers started in Auckland, he said.

He said our pace trio of Mohammad Amir, Umar Gul and Wahab Riaz all bowled shot and allowed Kiwis openers Williamson and Guptill to thrash them all over.

Instead of bringing New Zealanders to play on the front foot they allowed them to play range of strokes all over at back foot, he said.

Comeback boy Amir was concentrating more on speed and shot bowling and paid the penalty, Sadiq said.

In think had Amir used his used in-swinger intelligently that could have been benefitting for the team, he maintained.

He said Wahab and Gul also bowled badly to compound team's problems.

He said by bowling shot, Pakistan bowlers lost the opportunities of getting LBW or bowled decisions in their favor.

Sadiq Mohammad said, spinners Afridi, Imad Wasim and Shoaib Malik also failed and paid the penalty for poor bowling.

He questioned the role of coaching staff when Pakistan bowlers bowling shot.

Waqar Younis, Mushtaq and even Intikhab Alam have sent message in the field which never came and Pakistan team was blasted away by Kiwis openers, he remarked.

Sadiq said he had not much complain with the batsmen except they were in a position to post the total in range of 180-190.

He said Twenty20 not only game of sixes or boundaries. But singles play an important role in the ultimate outcome.

Pakistan must learn from the heavy mistakes and amend for having any realistic chance of winning the T20 as well as One-Day series.
