Over 154,000 Tunisians benefit from National Youth Tourism Programme.

(TAP) -- Minister of Youth and Sports Majdoline Cherni said more than 154 thousand Tunisians have benefited from the national youth tourism programme in summer 2017.

"This ambitious programme has created a great dynamic in the activities of youth in 2017 which has recorded 24 to 78 programmes," said the minister in a statement to TAP on the sidelines of the start Saturday of the third regional symposium of evaluation of the National Youth Tourism Programme.

She noted that these programmes, marked by the active participation of the components of civil society, have been spread over themes as diverse as "citizenship," youth development, "participation in local affairs" and other themes on information and communication.

Cherni stressed that this symposium is a good opportunity to assess the results, prepare the 2018 programme to ensure the best conditions for success by implementing the procedures guide, creating a national body responsible for the programme and opening up on other departments.

"Among the indicators of success of the programme in 2017 the number of beneficiaries increased from 70 to 154 thousand young people and the development of programmes from 24 to 78 with the same budget," said the minister.

"Ensuring a good treatment of youth issues and meeting their expectations and aspirations requires the implementation of new coaching programmes and institutions that can bring the most expected, in addition to their role of social and economic integration "she said.
