Outukumpu acquires Metso's grinding mills business.

The US Federal Trade Commission has approved Outokumpu's acquisition of the grinding mill business (earlier Nordberg's mill business) from Metso Corporation. The acquisition has been cleared after the other condition for the deal, the completion of Metso's offer for Svedala Industri, was fulfilled on 14th September.

The grinding mills complement Outokumpu's ore concentrating technologies and strengthen Outokumpu's position as a world leading technology supplier to the mineral processing industry. Now Outokumpu can offer complete process solutions with all the key equipment required for a mineral processing plant. The mill selection now belonging to Outokumpu contains rod and ball mills, SAG mills and autogenous mills. Average annual net sales of this business has been on the level of EUR25 million. Metso's 30-strong personnel in the mill business in five countries, also transferred to Outokumpu.
