Outlander and Lancer upgraded.

MITSUBISHI has announced updates to two of its most popular models, the Outlander SUV and Lancer hatchback.

The Outlander gets a new 2.2-litre diesel engine and to reduce CO2 emissions a two wheel drive version is being introduced.

Petrol engines are dropped from the range which is now priced from pounds 21,549 - an increase of around pounds 700. The new diesel sees power increased from 154bhp to 175bhp.

On the two wheel drive version, which costs from pounds 22,799, emissions are cut to 162g/km with Mitsubishi claiming average fuel economy of 46.3mpg.

In the Lancer range a new high specification two-litre diesel Juro model is being introduced costing pounds 14,999.
