Out of order lights on IHW exposes the citizens to road accidents.
ISLAMABAD -- Out of order lights have exposed the residents of the localities along side Islamabad High Way (IHW) to road accidents.The street lights are not in working condition since long and a major chunk of the high way remains plunged into pitch darkness from the fall of evening till advent of morning. The pace of road accidents has geared up and daily one or two accidents occur due to lack of facility of lights.
This state of affairs has made the life of the resident of the localities standing alongside this highway including PWD, National Police Foundation, Media Town, Koral town and Judicial town miserable as they on one side become victim of road accidents and on the other hand they have been left at the mercy of looters, dacoits and robbers who play havoc during night hours by seizing the opportunity of out of order lights.
The robbers strike all over the night and make good escape by taking advantage of the dysfunctional street lights.
" We can not dare to come on the high way after evening for fear of losing our vehicle and valuables as the robbers have got free hand to loot the citizens being the lights out of order", said a group of residents.
The citizens have demanded immediate replacement of out of order lights on Islamabad High Way otherwise they will be forced to hold protest rallies.
