Ours is no 24hr capital.
I'M in London this week as a panellist on the excellent Wright Stuff, appearing on Radio 4's News Quiz and giving my music selections on the fantastic Vintage TV channel.
I'll also be enjoying the bright lights and fleshpots of London town, although I never understood what these were. By bright lights do they mean neon advertising hoardings? By fleshpots do they mean knocking shops? Even places like Preston have THEM.
Still, I intend to fully enjoy myself in that global capital city where the pubs shut at 10.30pm on a Sunday and you can't get a drink in one after 11pm during the week. The excitement and glamour, eh?
