Our green fields are going.

THE developers have won again and another green field has been lost, this time in Netherthong.

In her report, the Planning Inspector doesn't sound convinced that the site is sustainable. She acknowledges both the increase in traffic and the narrowness of the roads and yet she does not seem to be concerned by highway safety, even around the school. When someone in her position can acknowledge the serious shortcomings of a proposed development site, why are such sites being approved - simply the overriding desire to build houses!

Yes, more houses are needed, but the first sites to be developed should be sustainable, brownfield sites, not green fields in congested villages where highway safety is already a major concern.
