Oulton Park gets revamp.

CHESHIRE'S Oulton Park racing circuit is benefit from a pounds 1.9m investment programme this year. It will mean improved facilities for spectators and competitors as well as increased safety at the track, near Winsford.

The investment comes amid motor industry rumours that Octagon's parent company Interpublic is looking to sell Oulton alongside the promoter's four other circuits.

Last night an Octagon spokeswoman refused to confirm or deny that the racing circuit is up for sale.

Octagon made a $58m pretax loss in the first nine months of last year, but owns the promotional rights to Silverstone, Brands Hatch, Cadwell, Snetterton and Oulton Park. The upgrade at Oulton includes a new pit complex for media, commentator and race control facilities, and improvements to the Knickerbrook chicane, internal roadway network and pit lane.
