Otter Creek Brewing releases first brand

Otter Creek Brewing, Inc., a newly-opened microbrewery in Middlebury, VT, recently announced the start up of distribution for its first product - Copper Ale.

Named for the products color, Copper Ale is an unfiltered, unprocessed beer, produced with a top-fermenting yeast. Six malts and three varieties of hops are balanced to make for a smooth, clean flavor, reminiscent of a northern German altbier, according to a brewery spokesperson.

The new brewery had been in the planning stages for some time, with production scale test brewing beginning at the Exchange Street facility just before Christmas. For the time being, Otter Creek will offer draught beer only, and while there are no immediate plans to bottle the product, "I wouldn't rule it out," explained brewmaster Lawrence Miller.
