Oslo Airport selects Proxim Corp's WLAN equipment.

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2002 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

Norway's Oslo Airport has selected Proxim Corp's WLAN equipment for its wireless Internet zone, called IP-zone.

The equipment provided by Proxim - a supplier of wireless local area networking (WLAN) and wireless wide area networking (WWAN) products - enables the airport's IP-zone to cover the entire airport, including all public areas in and outside the terminal, baggage handling areas, the conference centre, the aircraft cockpit, and the Radisson SAS Conference Centre East.

The WLAN uses a virtual private network (VPN) and also incorporates dual AP, which facilitates an easy upgrade of capacity.
