The US telecomms equipment maker Lucent Technologies has won a contract to provide a network management system for the mobile services provider Orange France.

Under the agreement Lucent will supply Orange with its Netminder network trouble patterning solution, which is part of the company's Navis iOperations Software portfolio. Lucent will also implement and support the solution with ongoing service maintenance, field support and training for onsite technicians.

The Netminder system will provide detailed surveillance, analysis and control of traffic across Orange's network in France, to enable the operator to locate and resolve any technical problems and to take preventive measures.

The value of the contract was not disclosed.
