Opticians in sharp focus at NEC show.

MIDLAND retailing experts are bringing a crucial aspect of the nation's High Street into sharp focus later this month.

A window dressing competition for opticians being staged at the NEC from April 13 to 15 will form part of Optrafair, the biennial optical industry show.

THE competition will look for the most inspiring way to drive people into opticians' shops.

Optrafair director Malcolm Polley said: "It is not just the big name retailers on the High Street that are suffering. "Smaller independent businesses are too, and that includes opticians. Optrafair is championing the fact that opticians need to learn from mainstream retailers in order to increase traffic."
