Opposing store plan.

I FIND it shocking that when large numbers of Selly Oak and Selly Park residents have taken the time and effort to publicly object to the latest plans proposed by Sainsbury for the Battery Site in Selly Oak, that the council has ignored their views.

I understand that some 325 messages of objection to the Sainsbury plan have been received by the council but these have been ignored.

What sort of council would blatantly ignore the views of the community they are supposed to reresent? DJ Kilgallon, Selly Park THE plans for Selly Oak regeneration appear to be solely based on the requirements and plans of Sainsbury to enlarge their own retail business. Their plans have reneged on agreements made earlier to keep the environmental wellbeing of the area in mind by regenerating the canal towards Selly Oak Park. RE Stephens, by email
