Ophthonix Receives Coveted Webby Award; Recognized for Design, Functionality and Creativity.

SAN DIEGO -- Ophthonix, a company producing "High Definition" customized vision correction technology that provides consumers with superior optical clarity and crispness, was honored with a 2006 Webby Award from the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences for Known as the "online Oscars," the Webby Awards are the most prestigious awards in the Internet industry.

The International Academy of Arts and Sciences established the Webby Awards to recognize Web sites that excel in design, functionality and creativity and establish best practices on a yearly basis, continually raising the bar for Web sites and Web development. Entries were received from all 50 states and over 40 countries around the world.

Ophthonix Inc., with its Web agency, Burdette Ketchum, developed to create awareness and comprehension of the company's innovative new vision correction technology. The Web site has evolved into a comprehensive source for vision care professionals in regards to using wavefront technology in non-surgical vision correction. It includes continuing education courses, user experiences, vision care statistics and clinical trial results. Additionally, the Web site includes a special section for consumers, providing them with information about the experience of high definition vision, including simulations of images seen through traditional lenses and through the customized iZon lenses.

"The industry-changing new technology offered by iZon(TM) Lenses requires a Web site that communicates to eye care practitioners the science behind it, the consumer and practice benefits and the market opportunity," said Andreas Dreher, Ph.D., president & CEO. "It also requires that we provide consumers with relevant information about daily vision challenges, such as night diving and how the iZon Lens offers them an exciting new world of high definition vision," he added.

Ophthonix introduced the customized, wavefront-guided, single vision iZon Lens in 2005 and, in March 2006, the iZon Progressives. The latter competes in the large and growing PAL segment targeted to the Baby Boomer population, who experience presbyopia, a condition which affects near or reading vision. Production of all iZon Lenses is based upon measurements taken by the Eye Care Practitioner of each patient's optical fingerprint, or iPrint(TM), with the Ophthonix Z-View(TM) Wavefront Aberrometer. The customized iZon Lens provides patients with the benefits of high definition, or high resolution, vision day and night. Ophthonix is the only manufacturer of eyeglasses to provide eyeglasses to patients by addressing the iPrint.
