Business/Technology Editors

BOSTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 29, 2000

An automated system that creates online photosharing services for existing websites was unveiled today by Opholio, Inc.

"The addition of the automated affiliates program further strengthens our position as a provider of value added photosharing services. It's now obtainable by websites of all sizes," said Opholio CEO Rebecca Donovan. "We hope to involve all types of websites in the digital photography revolution, including those that may not need a full-scale program. Our goal was to provide customized photosharing services that smaller websites can add quickly and effortlessly."

Opholio's automated photosharing affiliate program allows operators of existing web sites to add features, including online photo albums and "e-cards" (electronic photo postcards) to their sites, quickly and at no cost.

Website operators can sign up as a photosharing affiliate from the Opholio site, The sign up process is automated in six steps, during which Opholio gathers all site information, logos, business and creative information needed to create an individual, co-branded photosharing site. The streamlined sign-up process takes just minutes, and an affiliate's photosharing service is operational by the next business day.

Opholio's servers host the photosharing services, relieving affiliate sites of the traffic and technology burden required to effectively offer online photosharing.

"As digital photography becomes more common, people are going to want to bring their pictures to the web," said Opholio CTO Neil Mayle. "We've made photosharing something that small and medium-sized sites can add quickly, without writing code and hiring developers."

For website operators, photosharing is a powerful tool to build user loyalty and to increase traffic. As users build online photo albums called Pholios, existing users will invite people they know to view their Pholios. The invitees, in turn, create their own Pholios. The result: site traffic which increases with a "viral" quality - it builds on itself.

Opholio, Inc. provides sophisticated business-to-business photosharing solutions to existing Internet sites. Its patented technology provides partner sites with fully customized, user-friendly, outsourced photosharing solutions.

Opholio is located at 327 Summer Street in Boston, Mass., 02210, and can be reached at (617) 338-3118 or online at
