OpenHand releases new version of its mobile e-mail software.
Remote access software provider OpenHand Software Ltd has introduced Version 4 of its mobile e-mail software, offering new security features and improved functionality. The release comes in light of new research which suggests that the number of mobile e-mail users is likely to reach 45 million by 2008.
The new release is compatible with the majority of smartphones and PDAs and offers a new snapshot function to enable users to view e-mails, calendar and contact folders whilst offline. Version 4 also offers the user built-in support for secure authentication protocols, such as RSA SecurID, and functions such as file access to shared documents.
According to the company, Version 4 is aimed at making mobile e-mail more accessible and affordable for a wider range of business users by running on multiple devices and offering high levels of security.
