Only another busy night on TV for funnyman Jonathan.

Starring in Two Doors Down is not enough for Jonathan Watson on Hogmanay. He's back with Only an Excuse too, of course.

And this year's helping of football fun features the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson - with the legendary boss getting a new job at a well-known hardware chain.

Jonathan said: "It's a big year next year so we're also looking at the Commonwealth Games and the referendum. But we always bring it back to football because that's the root of the show."

Only an Excuse has made Jonathan a stalwart of the Hogmanay schedules but he was also delighted to showcase his acting skills in Two Doors Down.

He said: "It's a smashing cast with really well written characters, and I really enjoyed doing it.

"Doon MacKichan was just great. We play the kind of couple who are always into a wee bit of one-upmanship and that comes out as the night develops."

YOU CAN DO IT Jonathan as Fergie
