One year jail for staeling credit card briefs.

Abu Dhabi Dr. Maitha Salem Al Shamsi, Minister of State and Chairperson of the Marriage Fund, has approved the names of 426 beneficiaries for a grant amounting to Dh 15.52 million, the fund's second grant during 2012. The grants will be transferred to the beneficiaries' bank accounts. Al Shamsi affirmed that potential beneficiaries have to join a preparatory awareness programme about the concept of marriage.


Temporary ban on Egypt animals

Dubai Dr Rashid Ahmad Bin Fahd, Minister of Environment and Water, issued a ministerial resolution temporarily banning the import of animals with cloven hooves from Egypt. The temporary ban excludes heat-treated products and treated waste products as long as methods approved by the World Organisation for Animal Health are applied. The ban will stay in force until a final verification is made about the epidemiological situation of foot and mouth disease in Egypt.


One-year jail term for stealing wallet

Ajman A court in Ajman has sentenced a man to one year in jail for stealing a co-worker's wallet and using the complainant's credit card to buy clothes for Dh6,000, according to a report from the court. The convicted man, identified as Y.A.S, whose nationality was not disclosed, also stole Dh500 that was in the wallet that belonged to H.M.S.
