One killed, another injured after militant attack on police station in Bannu.

Peshawar, July 16 ( ANI ): One security officer was killed and another injured when militants attacked the Special Branch office of the police in Bannu, early on Monday morning.

Sources said around five to six militants used hand grenades and heavy munitions in the attack on the police station and took several hostages, reports The Dawn.

Police cordoned off the area as an exchange of gunfire between militants and security personnel took place, sources added. A curfew was imposed in the area after the incident.

Sources said the identity of the attackers was unknown. ( ANI )
