One down, now for my next fundraising feat!

A SCHOOLGIRL has completed her first charity venture for Zoe's Place Baby Hospice - and is already raring to do it all again.

Seven-year-old Ava Proom walked 51/4 miles in aid of the hospice in Ash Green when she entered this year's Coventry Walkathon and raised PS142 in the process.

The Templars Primary School pupil decided to put her best foot forward for Zoe's Place after watching Comic Relief and telling her parents she wanted to do her bit for charity.

Jane McGaffney, community fundraiser for Zoe's Place, said: "I first heard about Ava through a lovely letter she wrote to me asking if she could raise money for Zoe's Place. I was absolutely staggered with the amount she has raised and we are as proud of her as her family are.

"What a lovely girl and a wonderful story.

"Ava already wants to compete in next year's Walkathon and she is a true inspiration and we look forward to Ava coming to meet us here at the hospice."
