One dead as families evacuated; FIRES.

ONE person is believed to have died in a house fire last night.

Police and the Fire Service attended the blaze at Chichester Park North on the Antrim Road.

A police spokesperson said they believe there was one fatality.

Meanwhile, 10 families were evacuated from their homes last night as firefighters tried to bring a blaze at a garage in Millisle, Co Down, under control.

A 200m exclusion zone was placed around the building on the Donaghadee Road and the Donaghadee Community Centre was opened for anyone who needed accommodation.

The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service said there were two highly dangerous oxy acetylene cylinders in the building.

The PSNI said diversions via the Moss Road and Craigboy Road could last up to 24 hours.
