One Soldier, Nine Rebels Killed in Philippine Clash.
Manila, Rabi'II 20, 1439, Jan 7, 2018, SPA -- One soldier and nine suspected rebels are dead after a clash in the southern Philippines, an army spokesman said Sunday. One soldier was also wounded in the firefight in the town of Datu Unsay in Maguindanao province, 960 kilometers south of Manila, on Saturday evening, dpa reported. Troops were on security patrol when they encountered a group of about 50 rebels, said Captain Arvin Encinas, an army spokesman.
