Olly Murs to play Dubai on Valentines 2014.

Get ready for your heart to skip a beat: British X Factor singer Olly Murs is the first name to be announced for next year's Emirates Airline Dubai Jazz Festival. The singer -- who like One Direction, placed runner up on the TV talent show -- will perform on on February 14, and the Valentine's Day show is no coincidence, says the festival founder Anthony Younes, CEO of Chillout Productions.

"Olly is one of the most successful pop stars nowadays, he has lots of love hits and we are preparing something really special for that night," said Younes. "We believe that Olly's show is going to be as big as this year's The Script show. We will also have a mind-blowing supporting act to be announced."

55,000 people attended thsi year's festival, which had headline sets from The Script, OneRepublic, Three Doors Down and Deep Purple, and Younes promises the 2014 festival will be just as dynamic -- with plenty of jazz. It's the 12th edition of the yearly event, and will take place, as in previous years, at Festival Park, Dubai Festival City, from February 13-21.

"The theme will be much more than jazz, mainly we will have lots of jazz during the week of the jazz garden, plus few jazzy headliners and many jazzy opening acts. Also we will have some classic rock, indie rock, pop, and urban -- a mix of quality live entertainment," added Younes. "The venue is awesome and can accommodate the expected crowds."

Those crowds will have even more jazz lovers, hope organisers, who are keeping the Jazz Garden segment free of charge (the headline concerts are ticketed). "We will be bringing more jazz to satisfy the jazz lovers. We decided that we should keep it free for all, and let the fans enjoy free quality jazz concerts."

Murs was a runner-up on the sixth season of X Factor UK in 2009, and since has had four UK number ones, including the recent Troublemaker and Heart Skips A Beat with Rizzle Kicks. Next up, he'll be dueting with Robbie Williams on the ex-Take That singer's upcoming album, Swings Both Ways.

Ticket prices will be announced shortly, say organisers, with sales taking place on and 800-TM-UAE.
