Old soldiers drop into Arnhem again.

TWELVE Arnhem veterans in their seventies and eighties parachuted into the Dutch town yesterday to mark the 55th anniversary of the Second World War battle.

They successfully completed the drop with more than 200 members of 4th Battalion and 10th Battalion The Parachute Regiment.

Yesterday's bright sunshine contrasted with what was one of the bloodiest battles of the war when British and Polish paratroopers tried to take Arnhem Bridge over the Neder Rhine.

The action was immortalised in the film A Bridge Too Far.
