Old Style cans honor Chicago Cubs's greats

For the first time in the Midwest, baseball fans can enjoy pictures of their all-time favorite Chicago baseball players on beer cans. Old Style is now proud to introduce a series of "All-Time Greatest" Cub cans, featuring photos of former Cub All-Stars Ron Santo, Billy Williams and Ferguson Jenkins.

The first in the series of "All-Time Greatest" cans features former Cub third baseman Ron Santo. The can also displays his autograph and key career statistics. The can is now available throughout Chicagoland liquor stores, drug stores and taverns. The second commemorative can, featuring former Cub outfielder Billy Williams, will be available to the consumer in May, and the Ferguson Jenkins can will, honoring the former All-Star Cub pitcher, will debut in June.

"We're proud to pay tribute to the three of the Cubs' greatest players," said Jack Hanzlovic, group marketing director, G. Heileman Brewing Co., "and to Cub fans, who are the greatest in baseball. This is a tribute from Chicago's No. 1 beer to its No. 1 baseball heroes."

Hanzlovic also announced two Old Style campaigns for the Cubs Care Charities. G. Heileman will make a donation to Cubs Care for every commemorative case of Old Style and Old Style Light purchased during the Cubs' season. Additionally, Old Style will sponsor a home run promotion on behalf of Cubs Care: $100 for every Cubs' two-run four-bagger, $300 for every three-run dinger and $1,000 for every Cub grand slam.

The "All-Time Greatest Cub" cans will be supported by an extensive advertising campaign including print ads and radio spots.
